photo1Ivan, I would like to introduce you to hungarian guitar fans. Congratulate on your play! Could we say something about you?

I am Ivan Zecic, an 18 year old guitarist from Croatia. I am self taught as a guitarist, but I attended primary music school and played piano there, when I was younger. Currently, I am not a member of any active band, but I am working on my own music and preparing material for my solo album. I am also planning to gather a serious band in closer future, but that's still just a plan.

In the teeth of your young age, your play is very mature, and precise. Did you get any help from teachers or someone?

As I said before, I am completely self taught as a guitarist. I never took any real lessons. But the person who is responsible for my playing, which sounds so mature, is my father. He used to play guitar actively before I was born, so he kept one guitar at house, which later became my first guitar! I never ever got any real lessons from him, except for learning me three or four basic chords, but he always gave me advices not to play too fast, to play melodies and to pay attention to vibrato and tone. And that's what really matters, so now I'm extremely grateful to him! But technique and all that stuff came from instructional videos and from watching my favourite guitarists playing on youtube!

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

Ivan, how have you made your own style?

photo4It's simply a blend of everything I've ever listened to. All the melodies and all the stuff you can hear came sincerely from my heart/mind, which was influenced by everything I've ever heard. I just listen to music in my head and I try to transfer it on guitar, or some other instrument.

Who did impression you?

Many different guys and bands as well! But the most important guitar influences were definitely Richie Kotzen, Joe Satriani, Edward Van Halen, Andy Timmons, Steve Vai, Steve Lukather etc.
