Cissie Goumare Eng

I would like to introduce you to a pretty girl from the Netherlands. Her name is Cissie Goumare, Cizzie. Eminent player and she has some radiation wich makes me say „Yes, somethig is happening on the stage!", this is one of the most important things in the world of guitars!

Cizzie, please say something about yourself!

Hello, my name is Cissie, better known as Cizzie on youtube. I picked up a guitar for the first time at the age of 14, that's nearly 5 years ago now. Around that age I started to love rock music. I wanted to understand how they could make these great sounds with just a guitar and wanted to learn how to do so myself. I took lessons for 2 years in the local musicschool and have had 2 other teachers since.

Somebody that can play like you, i think this is not just a hobby! Do I say it well?

Actually it is! It's all about fun to me. There's a lot of excersizes I could practice to improve my technique but I simply don't like to, so I rarely do any of them. When I started playing I was so excited by it that I'd play straight for hours each day. Playing and learning my favorite songs. So that's how I learned to play.

Cizzie, have you studied of music?

Well, I did study at the Academy for Popculture for one year but I barely know anything about music theory. I can't stand music theory because I find it very hard to understand and I think it spoils the fun of the whole idea. I had a great teacher over there though, he showed me how to improve my playing by pointing out bad habits that I had grown accustomed to. I have a little bit of knowledge about scales, just the practical side to it. I should spend way more time on it though to improve my improvising but I figure I'll get there one way or another!

Playing in a band?

I used to play a lot of cover songs with other musicians in high school and at college which was always a lot of fun. Then I played in a Rock/Metal band for about half a year which thought me a lot about being in a band but it didn't work out in the end. After that I jammed with friends for a while. Trying to experiment with our instruments using crazy effects and playing in untraditional ways but neither did that work out. So at the moment I'm not in a band but I'll jamming again soon and I hope something that I'm finally comfortable with will come out of it!
